About Lori

With decades of experience as an educator—including nearly twenty years as a private educational therapist—I’ve helped children build the skills and confidence they need to succeed in school and beyond. I provide structured, personalized support to help your child feel capable, motivated, and empowered.

If your child is bright but struggling, if school feels overwhelming no matter how much effort they put in, or if they need new strategies to succeed, I’m here to help. Learning shouldn’t feel like a daily struggle. Together, we’ll find what works.

“[My daughter] will be attending UNLV on an academic and track scholarship. Lori was such an indispensable part of her journey. She came along at a critical time and helped her tremendously. For that, I’m grateful. She didn’t just help [my daughter], but she helped me… have the courage to support her learning her way, however that looked.”

— TANYA (parent of a former student)

Why I Do This Work

My passion for helping children succeed isn’t just professional—it’s personal. As a mother of three daughters and a grandmother to five, I’ve seen firsthand how every child learns differently. In my own family, I’ve seen one child thrive with traditional learning methods while another needed a completely different approach.

I know what it’s like to watch a child struggle and search for the right support to help them succeed. That personal experience has shaped the way I work with families. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to learning. Every child deserves an approach that meets them where they are, helps them grow, and builds their confidence along the way.

“My daughter was diagnosed late with ADHD and dyslexia and had fallen four grade levels behind in reading. Then we found Lori. In just a few months, Lori helped her catch up to grade level. She didn’t just follow a one-size-fits-all approach—she adapted to my daughter’s unique learning needs. Lori not only taught her how to read, but gave her back her confidence. She is my daughter’s hero!”

My Background & Experience

I specialize in dyslexia, ADHD, and executive function challenges, using research-backed strategies tailored to each child’s strengths. Over the years, I have worked one-on-one with countless children, helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

In addition to my work with families, I served as President of the Los Angeles Branch of the International Dyslexia Association and am an active member of the Association of Educational Therapists. Staying engaged in the professional community allows me to bring the latest research and best practices into my work with your child.

I started as a classroom teacher in public and private schools before transitioning to private practice, where I could provide the individualized support many students don’t receive in traditional classrooms. My formal training includes a Master’s Degree in Special Education with a specialization in Educational Therapy from California State University, Northridge, Elementary and Secondary teaching credentials from California Lutheran University, and a Bachelor’s degree in English from UCLA.

While my education and experience have shaped my approach, what matters most is helping your child feel capable, confident, and in control of their learning. Every child has a path to success—my job is to help find it.

My Approach

Every child has a unique way of learning, and my goal is to uncover the strategies that help your child succeed. Educational therapy isn’t just about better grades—it’s about addressing the challenges behind them and giving your child the tools to succeed.

For some children, this means strengthening foundational reading, writing, or math skills. For others, it’s about developing organization, study habits, and self-advocacy. Often, confidence is the biggest piece of the puzzle—when your child believes in their own abilities, everything else starts to click.

My approach is structured yet flexible, fostering progress while making learning feel achievable and rewarding. My role is not just to teach but to help your child become a capable, independent learner who can take on new challenges with confidence.

Let’s Get Started

The right support can make all the difference. If your child is struggling, they don’t have to navigate it alone. Through personalized educational therapy, I’ll help them build the skills, confidence, and independence they need to thrive.
